Overview
StartUppLegally assists with commercial contracts from drafting and negotiation through performance, renewal and expiry. The practice covers individual agreements and ongoing contract-management requirements across business operations.
Our work addresses both the written terms and the obligations the business needs to administer. We consider how the documents record the commercial arrangement, the responsibilities of the parties and the steps required when circumstances change.
01 / Scope of Work
Drafting, review and negotiation
We draft and review commercial agreements for service, supply, manufacturing, technical-assistance, media and other business arrangements within the firm's practice. The review considers the agreed work, payment terms, responsibilities and provisions addressing breach or disputes. Negotiation support records the positions agreed by the parties and identifies matters that remain unresolved.
02 / Scope of Work
Contract performance and records
The practice includes advice on routine compliance with contractual terms and on matters affecting performance. We review the relevant obligations and documentation, including issues concerning waivers or changes to the agreed position. Clear records are relevant when a business needs to explain performance, raise a grievance or support a contractual claim.
03 / Scope of Work
Renewal, expiry and disputes
We assist with legal questions arising on renewal, expiry or termination and with the documents required for the agreed course of action. Where a performance issue becomes a dispute, the contract review can be coordinated with the firm's dispute-resolution practice. The engagement defines the scope of advice; it does not imply a managed software platform or automatic monitoring service.
Information for an Initial Enquiry
Please outline the matter and the advice required. The following information can help us assess the proposed scope:
- Contract type and commercial purpose
- Key obligations and relevant dates
Please do not send confidential documents with an initial enquiry. We confirm conflict checks, scope and secure-sharing arrangements before reviewing detailed materials.
Questions
Can the firm review one agreement rather than an entire portfolio?
Yes. The engagement may concern a single contract or a defined group of agreements. Please identify the type of contract, the decision required and any signing or renewal deadline.
Can contract-management work continue after signing?
The scope can include advice on performance, renewal, expiry and related documentation. Ongoing instructions and responsibilities should be agreed expressly rather than assumed from a drafting engagement.
